CFC Great Adventure

Yup! The CFC and Counter Culture group had serious crazy fun and great adventure at Gabai Waterfall. We suppose to leave early on that but due to some unseen circumstances we only manage to leave 915am. However we manage to reach there in 30 mins because the swift and skillful abilities of our professional transporter. Once we arrive there, we all manage to lose our weight as we need to walk, climb, trek and drench to reach to the special spot where we can perform expert slide and dive. After awhile Joy gave us a treasure hunting experience. Please ask Joy for more info. After the enjoyment, we hijacked the other group by having our lunch at Old Town. Then we have some cyberspace adventure. Here are some pictures to prove that we had crazing and countering voyage.

Lantern Festival Celebration

Ladies and gentleman, we are so happy and glad for those who had join us for the lantern festival, I bet most of us really enjoy ourselves and had lots of fun right?

Well for those who missed it, here is what we did during that day, enjoy this post as u said to yourself "darn, I missed the whole fun, should had been there" haha. But it wont be that detail, for I wasn't really participating in that event.

Ok, the event was suppose to start at 6.30pm, however due to the bad traffic (because it's Puasa month) most of the people came late hence the event started late (around 7.30pm lol).

The crowd was split into 8 group, where each group were asked to tell the story about the origin of mid-autumn festival. Each group have their own version of story which made every laugh because it is just too ridiculous, crazy, don't make sense and hilarious. It was the time where everyone have fun laughing out loud.

After the story telling, we had our dinner.... After filling our hungry tummy, we were asked to find the riddle hung on the mango tree out side the house. Unfortunately not everyone followed the instruction, and they end up ripping out the riddle from the tree, so David have to read out the riddle instead of us having fun finding the riddle hidden all over the mango tree ( I was actually glad that they rip it out, cause the tree is full with spidy webby haha). After guessing all the riddle, the group that won are asked to come out to perform. So we have a good time watching Sebastian, our AGC dancer performing his dance, but he was kinda shy that time until Dexter challenge him.

Ok let us move on. After the riddle part, we are asked to make our own special special lantern (with tin can) before leaving to Taman Hill View Highland Tower (for those who doesn't know what happen to that place during 1993, just click on the link to find out). It took us almost 15-20min of walk before reaching that location. (well i dont have the picture with me now, will upload as soon as i get it). Upon reaching Highland Tower, all the candle were almost burnt out. Surprisingly, the moon light was bright enough that we dont really need the candle yet still able to see.

Ok after scaring ourself for about 5-10 minute there, we decided to walk back. Everyone started to leave when it was 11.20pm. Well thats just a short summary of what happened that day.

Stay tune for more photos and the update on our waterfall outing at Sungai Gabai last Saturday.

God Bless

What Trust Looks Like

Today I took a walk through Boston. The Boston Common is a beautiful and peaceful oasis to walk and pray. On my way back to the hotel I noticed a man on a motorized scooter. He was severely physically challenged. It appeared he was dealing with advanced Cerebral Palsy. The man was unable to communicate beyond noises and grunts. I have learned a lot about dealing with physically challenged people from my wife’s years of serving special needs kids. She has taught me to just treat them like anyone else. No need to look with pity or speak louder.

The man was selling water and soft drinks from his scooter. He had a little cooler and a money box with a slot. There was a sign that listed the prices. Another sign noted a box to make change because he was unable to execute even that simple task. So I went up to the man, smiled at him, told him I wanted a water and put money in the box. He grunted a response as I took my water and walked away.

I have to tell you that I walked away inspired and uplifted. Inspired by a man who refuses to let major challenges keep him from doing something for himself. I thought about how this man was demonstrating total trust every time he ventures out. He must trust those who do business with him to leave the correct amount and to make change. He has no choice but to trust others. I would struggle with having to trust others and not being able to control the situation at all. But he has made a choice to take a chance to trust others with himself.

That is what God asks me to do. He wants me to completely trust Him with all of me. A sincere comment from one of the recent blogs came to mind. The writer said that “the primary focus of our Christianity is pleasing God”. That seems to make sense and that is what I lived for years. But I am learning through my study from the book TrueFaced that my primary focus should be trusting God, not pleasing Him. I encourage you to watch a bit of that message. What can I do to please God? Scripture tells me that faith pleases God. In Hebrews we read that without faith it is impossible to please God. But I would rather do stuff to try and earn His favor. If I take that path I can maintain a little control. When I choose to simply trust God I get scared. I want to hold back a little (or a large) percentage. We have been taught a theology that God rewards us based on our deeds. Read carefully. I am not saying that we should do nothing. I am saying that my deeds flow out of trusting God, allowing Him to love me even in my “as is” condition. My deeds flow out of worshiping Jesus for paying the price to make me righteous before a Holy God. My deeds flow out of peace as the Holy Spirit fills my heart with comfort. I spent three decades trying to do good deeds to access what I already had the first day I trusted Christ. I spent years trying to earn gifts that were already given and simply need to be unwrapped.

Was this man an angel in disguise today? I was blessed by his courage and trust. I want to continue to learn to put my ego, my need to hang on to control and my pride on the altar and leave it there. I want to trust Him completely. That will please Him more than anything

Run The Race

Hey guys, still remember the theme of our camp this year? If you had forgotten let me just refresh your memory, our theme was Amazing Race and the theme verse were from Hebrews 12:1-2 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Well how's things going on in life now? Remember that the race start after the camp? So have u actually started the race? Are you still running? Are you exhausted already? Are you enduring even though you are tired? Had u fell and hurt yourself? Are you standing back up after the fall or sitting there crying all day long? What are you fixing your eye on? Anyone out there supporting you in the race?

As for me I can honestly tell that I am only running at a very slow pace.(or maybe just walking) That's because while running the race I was distracted by all the beautiful scenery, my shoelace got untied, I tripped and fell, got worn out by the hot sun, and when it's raining, heavily I lost my direction due to the blurry vision and headed to the wrong direction.

Despite all that I am still thankful for one thing, that is I am still in the race, I had not quite or gave up on the race although many trial and distraction are ahead of me, because one thing i know is that, no matter I am the first or the last to finish the race, I still will receive a prize as promised by God, with the condition as long as we never give up and are still running the race till we reach the finishing line.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

"Jesus has already run the race and rewards those who follow in his footsteps to the finish. Winning isn’t the issue, for we have already been promised the prize. All we need to do is to get in and run the race to completion."(Meghan Kleppinger)

Intersecting Faith & Life: You may not be the fastest runner, and that is okay because the race of faith set before us is one of endurance, not speed. Build up your strength through prayer, studying and meditating on God's Word.

Take care my brothers and sisters, may God bless us richly each time we ask Him to help us in our race, and remember it's not all about winning, it's all about completing the race.

I WILL RUN TO YOU

Abiding in the Vine

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5

One thing you’ll never see is a fruit factory. Now, you’ll see factories for making clothing, cars, and computers, but not a fruit factory. Instead fruit is grown in an orchard. It is dependent upon life. There is no fruit without life.

The only way that fruit is going to ripen and grow is in the right climate and with the right nutrients. Just as we can’t grow bananas in Alaska, we can’t grow and produce the fruit of the Spirit unless we’re in the place where the Spirit can produce His fruit in us.

And that place is walking and abiding in the Spirit.

Read Galatians 5:22-25 today and ask God to help you abide in the Spirit to produce the fruit He desires in your life. "

Something to share

Well I guess what I can do to update this blog more frequently is by sharing my devotion or meaningful article I read from some useful website.

I read a short simple article and felt very encouraged by it.I learn how to see things in a more Godly persepctive, and learn not to follow the worldly view and values which will only make us feel miserable. Here goes the article extracted from http://www.crosswalk.com/devotionals/LoveWorthFinding/11581436/

God Keeps the Score

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

I read something that deeply touched my heart about a PGA golfer named DiVensenzo.
As he was leaving a golf course with his winnings, a woman approached him and said, “I have a baby who is dying.” Moved with compassion, he endorsed the check and gave it to her saying, “Take this, and try to buy some happiness for yourself and your child.”

A week later, he was in the clubhouse having lunch, and one of the PGA officials came up to him and said, “Did you know that the woman who approached you last week didn’t have a baby dying of an incurable disease!” And DiVensenzo said, “There’s no baby dying? That’s the best news I’ve heard all week!”

What an attitude!

Do you ever feel like people are going to take advantage of you? Be thankful today that God keeps the score. "

Sarah Loke Swoop To CFC

We Crazy For Christ are delighted to announce the signing of Sarah Loke. We manage to clinch the transfer of Sarah Loke from Counter Culture just before the transfer window deadline. We are absolutely delighted to get the opportunity to work with such an incredible talent like Sarah. This is a key signing. Her style and ability will give the team a different dimension. However we are sad that we lost Joy to Counter Culture. We're going to miss her warmth and the joy she bring to the team. She is undoubtedly one of the best. Lastly we would like to thank Joy for the marvellous things she brings to our group.
